Is recovery an activity such as playing that amuses, distracts, or stimulates, or recovery can be the process of recovering something, while relaxation is an act of relaxation or the state of relaxation; the opposite of stress or tension; the goal of recreation and leisure activities. The act of relaxation or state of relaxation; the opposite of stress or tension; the goal of recreation and leisure activities. A recreational specialist is expected to meet the recreational needs of a community or an assigned interest group. People spend their time on activities of daily life, work, sleep, social duties and leisure, the latter being free from previous commitments to physiological or social needs, a prerequisite for recreation.

Relaxation is an act of relaxation and can be defined as relaxing tension and refreshing the mind or body. Games are sometimes played just for recreation, sometimes for success or financial rewards. The National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) is the nationally recognized organization for the therapeutic recovery profession.

It is therefore important that we invest time in both rest and relaxation to optimize our mental and physical health. In the United States, most states have a professional organization for continuing education and certification in leisure management. Therapeutic recovery professionals who are certified by the NCTRC are known as Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
